Mystical Friends Prologue 1: Chris/Crystal

The magic of the fairy ring (Fairy TG/TF)

"Oh crap, now I totally got lost." Chris exclaimed as he walked through the trees, searching for the way out of the forest. Chris was a teeange boy, about 16 years old. He had short dark-blonde hair and brown eyes. He wore jeans with a brown belt and a green striped T-shirt under his red and blue jacket. On his legs he donned a pair of black-colored trainer shoes.

He originally looked for mushrooms in the forest alongside his friends, but he went too inside and got lost as a result. The sun was about to set, so it seemed that he had to spend the entire night in the forest. The sky almost darkened, when he finally reached a very big tree. Its trunk was much thicker, compared to the other trees, and it was also significantly taller. As Chris went closer, he also saw a ring of mushrooms around the tree.
"Huh, that's weird." he said to himself. "I've never seen a fairy ring around a tree. Interesting sight."
He then decided that he will spend the night under the tree and tomorrow he will find the way home. He sat on one of the tree's roots and fell asleep. Unbeknowst to him, the mushrooms around the tree lit up with a faint light and his body began to glow with sparkles, marking the beginning of his transformation.

Upon tomorrow, streaks from the morning sunshine were illuminating the forest, with one of then warmed Chris's face. He woke up, but much to his shock, he found himself in a bed, wearing a light green nightgown made from silk.
"Where I am?" he asked nervously, when suddenly he realised that his voice somehow changed into higher toned, somewhat more feminime.
"Why is my voice sounds like a girl's? Don't tell me..." He began to examine his body, and found that his arms and legs became more slender with a completely smooth skin, his body was curvaceous and his face also was rounder. He also could feel the breasts on his chest. All in all, he really turned into a girl!
"No way! It has to be a dream." Chris slapped himself/herself?, but he/she? had to realise that this is real.

"Oh, you're already awake?" a gentle voice said to Chris. She turned around, and her jaw dropped: before her stood a girl, same age as her. She had long icy-blue hair reaching her mid-back, green eyes and pointed ears. She wore a backless short dress, also blue in color and had a hairband made of small white flowers on her head. But which was the most surprising, she had two pair of translucent wings on her back, similar to dragonflies.
"A fairy!? Now I really must be dreaming." Chris exclaimed.
"Just calm down and relax, please." the fairy said. "I'll prepare the breakfast for us and I explain everything."
As she left, Chris sighed and fell back into the bed. "Just where I am and what happened to me?" she murmured.

Moments later, Chris sat down to have breakfast with the fairy, who seemed to be very friendly to her. Fruits, mushrooms, salad and some other food could be seen on the table, alongside with tea to drink.
"Do you want some thyme tea?" the fairy asked.
"Yes, I would some." Chris responded.
"By the way, my name is Iris. And yours?"
"I'm Christopher, but my friends just call me Chris. Although it seems that I need to change it since I'm a girl now. Why I am girl, anyway?
"Due to the magic of the fairy ring. Because you stepped inside it, well..." Iris sighed. "You turned into a fairy."
Hearing this, Chris's heart began to race wildly. "I turned into WHAT?"
"You heard right, you became a fairy. This big tree serves as our kingdom and the fairy ring around it protects us from intruders. However, sometimes if a human crosses it, he/she turns into a female fairy regardless the gender. But don't worry, you turned out to be very cute. Let me show you."

Chris reluctantly followed Iris to the latter's bedroom where stood a full-body lenght mirror. In the mirror she could see an attractive fairy girl with short, dark blonde hair and bright red eyes. Her ears was also pointed and had a pair of tranlucent, green wings. Chris couldn't believe her eyes: it was actually her own reflection.
"Wow, you're right, I am really very cute." she said while examining herself in the mirror.
"And as for your name, I'd call you Crystal. This is a more fairy-ish name than the Christopher."
"Thanks, I like it because it's short version sounds similar to my original name's. You can call me Crys."
"Okay, Crys." Iris said with a giggle. "Now, I will show you the fairy kingdom, but you need to learn first how to fly. Come with me.
She led Crys to the balcony of her house. There, she began to flutter her wings and jumped into the air.
"Wait, how can I do it?" Crys asked.
"Just focus your energy into your wings and flap them, after that everything will come naturally." Iris replied.
The new fairy took a deep breath and concentrated. Her wings begin to flap faster and faster and she finally jumped from the balcony. She closed her eyes at first, but seconds later she opened them and saw herself hovering in the air.
"I'm flying! I'm really flying!" she exclaimed happily as she tilted herself forward, following Iris as she proceed to show her the Fairy Kingdom.

It was late afternoon, when Crystal and Iris returned to Iris's house. Crystal was glad to see her new friend's homeland, but she felt that her parents must be worried.
"Iris, I think I should go home now, but I can't return as a fairy. Is there any way to change me back into a boy?"
Iris looked at her: "Normally, this transformation permanent, but for you I have something."
She stormed into her bedroom and took out a large chest. She began to throw things out of it, until she found a golden medallion with a red gemstone embedded into it. She then handed it over to Crys.
"This magic medallion allows you turn back into a human boy when you leave the fairy ring. Remember to keep it with yourself, if you lose it, you'll become a fairy instantly. Furthermore, it also allows you to freely switch between human and fairy as long as you wear it."
"Thanks a lot, Iris. And don't worry, I'll keep this place secret."
"That's exactly what I wanted to ask." Iris replied. "Don't forget that fairies would be in danger if humans discover our existence."
"I'm aware of that. Now I really must go." Crys said and turned to leave, when Iris grabbed her shoulder.
"Wait, I"ll guide you out of this forest. And I also give you an another present, as a symbol of our friendship." she said and gave Crys a reddish-brown scarf. "Wear it with pleasure."

Moments later, they left the tree and the fairy ring. Crystal's medallion shined and she transformed back into Christopher.
"Oh finally, I am a human boy again! Iris, where are you?"
"I'm right here." she said. Chris turned around and saw Iris, fluttering before his eyes.
"You became so tiny!" he said.
"Well, this is my original size. We fairies are much smaller than humans, you know."

By sunset, Iris led Chris out of the forest. After saying goodbye, she then watched as the boy reunited with his worried parents and friends. But she knew, that Chris will surely visit her, after all.
